Birds of Nepal

Over 900 avian species make Nepal their home. While the number of birds living here may seem disproportionately large compared to the size of the country, the sheer variety in habitats is more than capable of supporting the diverse avian population.

The national bird of Nepal is the Himalayan Monal, where it is called Danphe. Other notable species include the Nepal House Martin, the Satyr Trogopan, and the Spiny Babbler.
