Lizards in Pennsylvania

While Pennsylvania is generally too cold for most lizards, some species have been able to adapt. For instance, the coal skink, the northern fence lizard, and the broad-headed skink are all native to the state. Even formerly invasive species like the Italian wall lizard and the Mediterranean house gecko have thrived in Pennsylvania.
