Hawks, Eagles, and Falcons in Alaska

Magnificent birds of prey like eagles, falcons, and hawks can be found in the virgin wilderness of America’s northernmost state. The Northern Frontier’s diverse landscapes and abundant prey offer an ideal habitat for these apex predators. While most of these species are native to the state, few are accidental visitors.

The hawks of Alaska live in various habitats and show remarkable adaptations to survive in the rugged landscapes. Of eagles, the bald eagle is more common in Alaska than in any other US State, with more than 30,000 individuals living here. It is the most enormous bird of prey in Alaska.
